COMPASS SCHEDULE

COMPASS is known for our COMPASS Lunch Meetings where Christian business men and women can gather for food, fellowship, and training. These lunches, along with other special events, are listed below. If you have any questions concerning an event listed, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 810-966-8660

NEXT LUNCH MEETING

The next COMPASS Christian Business Alliance meeting will be on Thursday, March 18, at the Black River Country Club, 3300 Country Club Lane, in Port Huron.   The meeting will be from 11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and the cost is $10 per person ($8 for members), which includes a buffet lunch.  Reservations must be made in advance by calling 810-966-8660 (or by emailing abby@optrans.org), no later than Tuesday, March 16.   Payment can be made at the door by cash, check (made out to “OT”) or by using a credit card.  COMPASS is open to all Christian business owners and leaders - spouses and guests are always welcome.  The theme for this year is “Finishing Well”.

The March 18th COMPASS meeting will feature special guest Tom Kaczperski, founder of Omega Plastics, Inc. in Clinton Township.  Tom graduated from the University of Michigan with an engineering degree.  He applied his engineering skills in various roles within the plastics industry.  Tom enjoyed the speed and variety of prototyping, so he started his own company – Omega Plastics – focusing on just that.  Tom dedicated his business to the Lord and looked for ways to live out his call to the marketplace.  In addition to running Omega Plastics until his retirement, some of Tom’s business experiences include starting other businesses, a joint venture overseas, and holding a minority share holder position.  Tom and his wife, Paulette, have been married 23 years and reside in St. Clair Township.  They have 8 children and 14 grandchildren.

The COMPASS Strategic Team Leaders are always available for prayer and advice.  Feel free to call or e-mail Operation Transformation for contact information.

COMPASS MEN'S GROUP

Beginning March 16, 2010, the Compass Men's Group will begin a new study of a book authored by Wayne Grudem entitled Business for the Glory of God, The Bible's Teaching on the Moral Goodness of Business.  (the only cost is $11.00 for the book).

The group meets every Tuesday morning from 7:00 - 8:00 AM at the offices of the Blue Water Center for Christian Counseling.  Go to www.bwccc.com for directions.

During the past year, the group has been reviewing Finishing Well authored by Bob Buford.  As Christian business men, our desire is to learn the Biblical principles of business and hold one another accountable as we learn to share our lives with eachother.

The group is open to any and all men who desire to grow strong in their faith.  Members are encouraged to bring their Bibles with them as we will be searching out principles of business throughout scripture.

What men are saying about this group...

"The Tuesday morning Bible Study hosted by Dan Lundblad is the highlight of my week, in spite of the fact it begins at 7 am!. I call it the"Godly" activity at an 'ungodly' hour. It is a rare opportunity for Christian men to gather, study God's Word, relate to one another, laugh, and yet share one another's issues and even shed a tear.

This Bible Study should be a highpoint of every man's weekly schedule. It certainly is mine."

~ Richard Freimuth

"In a world where business men go to battle with their armor on daily, it is a great release and comfort to attend this men's group where we can all be ourselves and know the other guys around the table have our best interest in mind."
~ Konrad Swenson

Our interdenominational Men's Bible Study meeting on Tuesday mornings has been nothing less than inspirational, motivating and thought provoking.  In reflecting over the last eight months,  God has really made a difference in my daily life.  I can't put my finger on it exactly, but the calm that rests on me as a result of our Tuesday morning meetings is notable.  I am expecting God to make a lot more changes in my life as he sees fit.

Thank you Tom for the invite and thank you Dan for your leadership!

~ Larry Morse
